Textile Directions for Intimates :
Light Illusion
The barely-there factor is being taken to its extreme as ultra light stretch fabrics
continue to develop but with an innovative fancy note. With the finest forms still
reliant on the synthetic sector, lightweight qualities are incorporating refined natural
fibers including cotton. The increasing demand for decoration, updating these
gossamer qualities through printing, yarn combinations and innovative jacquard
effects continues. Matte/brilliant yarn combinations create optically illusive
stripe/jacquard effects in compact and super smooth surfaces that embrace the body
while elaborate designs can be incorporated through burnout. For print inspiration we
look to the classic art of trompe l'oeil, were what you see isn't necessarily what you
get. The same can be said for the fabrics, feeling incredibly light to wear, the surprise
comes in the form of power stretch. On a fancier note, new open-work structures
feature in seamless, warp and circular knits taking inspiration from the hosiery sector
with fishnet effects and micro mesh giving an edgier finish with a smooth surface and shape and support.PRODUCTS
